Community Pride Poster Contest

CommunityPridePosterContestLogoFormerly known as Green Ribbon Week, the Anaheim Beautiful Community Pride Poster Contest is offered each Spring and reaches well over 32,000 young minds. In cooperation with the program sponsors and the Anaheim Elementary School District, Magnolia School District and Orange Unified School District, the contest encourages students to partake and develop an attitude of pride for their community by focusing on being litter-free, graffiti-free and recycling. Winners are selected at the school, district and City level. The final six winners, one from each grade, are recognized by the Anaheim City Council at their first meeting in June and receive a special grand prize.

An art contest portraying a positive message is only part of this worthwhile program which includes environmental education presentations in the classroom designed to teach students about what happens to their recyclables after they leave the curb and how they can prevent litter and graffiti in their city.

A flyer announcing the program throughout Anaheim’s elementary school system has been sent and details the rules for this year’s contest. Be on the lookout at your local school in order to participate. The deadline is, fittingly, Earth Day, Friday, April 22, 2022.

We are looking forward to working with our 2022 Community Sponsors who help to make this program available. It is through their commitment to our community that the important message of caring for our environment will be heard loud and clear by young people throughout our City.
