The Anaheim Colony House was filled with celebration on Wednesday, June 1 as Anaheim Beautiful held its annual gala, this year to celebrate the organization’s 45th anniversary. Well over 100 guests enjoyed the gathering which featured music by The Colony Boys, a silent auction, presentations of several community awards and, of course, a delicious dinner.
The evening’s award presentations included:
Unsung Hero Award – Republic Services
Sally White Award – Pat Pina
President’s Award – Linda McDonald AND Anaheim Public Works
Graffiti Wipe Out Award – Alex Escobar
Institutional Property Award – St. Catherine’s Academy
Historic Residential Property Award – Mitch and Sherry Caldwell
Commercial Property Award – Starbucks #19311 (Downtown Disney)
Sustainability Initiative Award – Anaheim Convention Center
Sweepstakes Property Award – KABOOM!
Thelma Jordan Scholarship Award – $1,000 Scholarship in the area of Environmental Studies – Noah Gangoso, Grace Sohn and Jose Gonzalez.
Representatives from Anaheim Beautiful Community Pride Contest sponsors were also recognized by Sandra Sagert, Anaheim Beautiful’s board president. These sponsors included, Republic Services, Disneyland Resort, City of Anaheim Public Works and Code Enforcement, West Coast Arborists and Superior.
As the gala is Anaheim Beautiful’s major fundraiser of the year, the organization is appreciative to all of those who joined them in this celebration.
